    Tribe,

    Class attendees;

    Lee Reinentein
    Eddie Woolard
    Mike Murray
    Justin Tate
    Eric Barker

Class started on time. Began with the formal Sayoc Kali Salute / salute talk and what Chon, Galang, Mano Po meant.

I demonstrated the bow before starting to rep with the group. Repp’d numerous times before actually doing formal bow.

Started with Blade passing protocol having the group pass blades to each other. In a circle back and forth. Then introduced two blades having them pass them.

I them demonstrated drop blade protocol and having mindfulness of the dropped blade. I showed what the response would be from each of them and if they were the one who dropped the blade.

    Spoke about Vital Template Concepts

    Began 3 of 9 Template
    1st three cuts ( #’s 1,2,3 )
    Group repp’d those cuts

( There was five people so I rotated them around with each other. The group that had three would work one cut on one person then the next on the other keeping with that pattern )

I then showed the next three cuts
    ( 4,5,6 )
I had the group work only those cuts. While they were repping those I thought of how I had wanted them to demonstrate the cuts to the group on each series of three cuts they learned. I had them then demonstrate to the group the six cuts they had learned up to this point. ( I made sure they said both the number and target name for each cut )

    I then showed them cuts
    ( 7,8,9 )
Having them rep only those cuts.

I then had them demonstrate those cuts to the group.

I then had demonstrated the entire 3 of 9 Vital Template then had them rep 3 of 9
I then had them come out and demonstrate the 3 of 9 Vital Template.

After they performed that I had them work the odd / even numbers.

Then work the Template in a reverse grip. They then worked the Template in reverse grip odd / even numbers.

I had them then work the template moving around their partner ( or partners ) in forward grip then reverse.

I then walk around among themselves performing 3 of 9 getting cuts. They were not allowed to get two cuts on the same person. Then they did the same but on their knees. They stood back up working Template in reverse grip then back to their knees.

I then talked about reactionary gap and worked the reactionary gap ( dollar ) drill with each of them.

I then talked about reactionary gap and how each cut of 3 of 9 was a kill in itself. I had them pair up with the receiver framing his arms up into a boxing type stance and having them clear out the right hand of the receiver and getting only the first cut of 3 of 9.

I them demonstrated the Left Hand Template

    Then demonstrated Right leads Left
    Left leads Right
    Simoutounous

I then opened it up for questions or comments

The only question was from Eddie who wanted to know exactly where the precious target of the external and internal jugular would be located.

I responded with advising that a huge part of Sayoc Kali would be to learn and locate those areas and that would be his and the groups “homework” to research the template targets.

    Ended with Salute.
