    Training Group Notes
    August 15, 2015

Attendees: Guro Alfred, Matt, James and Chris

    Continued working on triangle footwork:

Used the male triangle to void attack and create space to setup opponent for counter.

Similar to blueworm shot in Transition Drill 1 or a knee strike with the stick
    * Move away from strike just enough to pass and follow-up with counter

Focused on using the male triangle to avoid a roundhouse kick from the left and right. Learned to identify the kicker’s body mechanics and intent to time when to begin triangle and set up counter strike. (Find their seam and close their gap)

Incorporated additional attacks so multiple triangles were used to reach the optimal position for a counter strike.
    * Roundhouse kick to backside kick – Feeder 1
    * Male triangle to avoid roundhouse kick and female triangle to slip and counter backside kick

Incorporated punches and kicks as strikes and male and female triangles to counter.
    * Palusut to punch strike (male or female triangle)
    * Round house kick – F1, male triangle – F2 with front kick or charge

Reviewed 3 of 9 right hand template and worked drill with Chris as a receiver. Incorporated the triangle footwork from earlier in class to set Chris up for the correct response. Also, did 3 of 9 drill incorporating 7 count passing movements.

Discussed preliminary open house outline – September 12th is confirmed for next open house.
