        Warm up

      1. Move shelves and equipment to new location

        Classwork

      1. Continue working two or three counts from the 12-count stick template.
      2. Try to use point down deflections, and experiment as necessary to see if its a viable parry.

8th Count: Arcing Thrust to Brachial or Thyroid

      1. Using a roof or wing block to parry a high thrust (8th count, thrust to brachial or thyroid) is difficult, but a fan motion works well.
      2. As Feeder 2, you use your stick in right hand to fan the thrust to your right, and left hand to take over with a cross body tap while countering with a point-on right-hook.

9th Count: Point-on Hook to Jaw or Temple

      1. Same as 8th count, a fan works much better than roof or wing. A roof can work if you also duck under the hook.
      2. As Feeder 2, in response to the hook, you can either fan to your left and enter for grappling, or can fan to your right and shuffle out before countering.
      3. If entering, fan to your left and use left hand to same-side tap Feeder 1 stick arm to his own hip while bringing your stick across Feeder 1’s face, down behind his back, and into your left hand.
      4. If shuffling out, fan to your right as you shuffle out, use left hand to check Feeder 1’s stick arm down, and counter with an outside flywheel to the clavical (10th count).

10th Count: Outside Flywheel to Clavical

      1. Roof or wing can work with correct adjustments to footwork and body positioning.
      2. To set up for 11th count (two-hand thrust to face), roof is easier.
      3. Roof puts the point near the left hand which can quickly grip the stick for the face thrust.
      4. Another option is to start with a two-hand grip (one hand at each end of the stick) to block the flywheel, and step in to counter with the thrust.

        11th Count: Two-Hand Face Thrust

      1. Step right while using left hand or forearm to stop-block Feeder 1’s nearest arm.
      2. Get behind his elbow to turn him away from you.
      3. Counter with thrust to his chin from behind and between his legs, and also forearm punch to balls.
